Man’s best friend is always on the lookout for danger, even ones we inflict on ourselves — or ones that aren’t even dangers for that matter. Team DSM-Firmenich’s Pavel Bittner discovered this while trying to wash his bike this week.
As Bittner turned a hose on his team issue Scott Foil RC bike, his dog Ollie was on the case, springing into action to save the bike from the dangerous stream of water.

Ollie obviously has overhauled a few hubs in his day, and didn’t want Bittner risking shooting any water into the bearings.
Likewise, Human Powered Health’s Henrietta Christie was also saved from certain bike destruction by her dog Rex, who bravely put himself between a stream of water and her Felt FR race bike.

Okay, okay so the light hose setting these riders were using were far from power washer levels, and using a power washer doesn’t matter much anyway when you have a fresh bike tended to by a pro mechanic waiting for you at team camp in a few short weeks, but we could all use a proactive guard dog to look after our best interests.
